The son of a sculptor and carver in Paris, who gave him his first lesson from his father. In 1775, he attended the School of the Royal Academy and participated in the salon of 1791 where he exhibited regularly until 1827. Vallin, who has distinguished himself in all genres, enjoyed painted for the evocations of nymphs, bacchantes, bathers and nudes in harmonious landscapes bathed in a golden light. His work is marked by the neoclassical movement. All his features are present here. This naked couple stands out against a foliage background, on the right a waterfall gives clarity and freshness.
