Description
Antique Table Clock / Travel Office / Mrescialla / Cappuccina - Brass End 800 First 900 - - - bronze brass - Late 19th century Early 20th century
Mechanical - 8 day movement - striking hour and half alarm

Wonderful antique brass and bronze Officier clock. Late 19th or early 20th century. Mechanical key winding movement. Anchor escapement. Has been checked by a clock mender. In perfect working order. Entirely original. It chimes on the hour and on the half hour. It has a repeater that chimes the hours at the press of a button. Works also as an alarm clock. Bevelled glass panels are in perfect condition, the clockcase is made of brass and has a light patina; it’s still very beautiful and finely chiselled. With four pillars with carved capitals. The top handle in the shape of two very well-crafted tritons can be lowered. With a dedication carved on the base. The white enamel dial is perfect, bearing the signature A. Ericsson, probably the jeweller who sold it. Arab numerals for the hours, Roman for the minutes, in black colour. With a smaller dial below the main one for the alarm clock function, with Roman numerals. The serial number is 14470, also reported on the key and on the case: this is a very hard to find combination, for a true collectible clock. The clock case has the number 4. The platen inside is signed Ed. CHARTIER PARIS. It comes with a key for the two winding holes, for winding the clock, for winding the striking mechanism, and for adjusting the hands (to set the time). Clock dimensions: height with handle up: 17.8 cm, with handle down: 14.8 cm, width 9 cm, depth 8.5 cm. Weight with case: 2100 grams, without case 1611 grams. Tracked and insured shipping. Pictures are an integral part of the lot description.
