Box, with four closures, with instruments for an ophthalmologist. The instruments can be sterilised (after 1870). Trays are removable. 2 trays (layers) with instruments. The lid shows the instruments (inventory list). Including 4 scissors, 3 tweezers and a multitude of scalpels and tweezers.
John Weiss (1773-1843) is the founder of the company. He was born in Rostock, Germany. In 1831, John Weiss' son joined the company. Weiss is mentioned in a book by Sherlock Holmes.
Weiss is currently part of the Haag-Streit group.
