Marli Turion studied at the Akademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Maastricht and at the Akademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Arnhem.
Turion received several stipends, travel and work scholarships for her work and was the winner of the Nederlandse Grafiekprijs.
Central in her work are women. She examines the relationship between real living women and the way they are portrayed. In layers and grids they become elusive but at the same time fragile and vulnerable. In this way, she comes close to mankind in all its fragility, what’s 'under the surface' must be able to come to the surface. She does so in every way possible; using photographs, computer techniques, drawings, paintings.
