Dual-Power monocular - Brass, Gilt, Glass - about 1800

Dual-Power monocular - Brass, Gilt, Glass - about 1800

Rare gold-plated brass Dual-Power monocular from circa 1770. Monocular is in used, but good condition. At the edge of the front lens, the glass misses a very small chip, see also photo 16. The Dual-Power monocular still works very well and gives a nice sharp image through both lenses. See also the other photos for condition specifics. Operation monocular: This monocular has two eye lenses in the eye piece. The eyepieces can be used one by one by rotating the eyepiece, making the necessary lens appear. On the brass tube of the telescope there are two engraved lines, when the lens and the telescope are slid in the right line, the telescope produces a correct magnification and a clear image (the lenses probably produce an magnification of 3 and 6x) the lines have largely worn out over time. Please see photo 9. Monocular is not signed, but is of high and heavy quality. Dimensions: Length 10cm. Length extended 14cm. Diameter 4cm. Monocular will be carefully packaged and sent registered.
