Etching of Mr Frederick Goodrich Robbins (California artist), rare etching from the university portal of Amsterdam.
Mr Robbins made all sorts of etchings from sights all over the world, he made this when he visited the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
For (one of many) example, he also made an etching of the Academy of the Fine Arts in Pennsylvania which is now in possession of the Pennsylvania fine art acadamy.
Painter, etcher, born in Oak Park, Illinois on May 8, 1893. Robbins studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. During the 1920s he maintained a studio-home in San Francisco and further studied at the California School of Fine Arts under Macky and Randolph. Robbins was a resident of Los Angeles in 1929, Berkeley in 1936, and by 1940 had moved to Westborough, Massachusetts. He died in January 1974.
