Originally published as a kuchi-e frontispiece in the literary magazine Bungei kurabu 文芸倶楽部 (Literary Club), vol. 9, no 10.
Published by Hakubunkan 博文館新社, Tokyo, in 1902 (Meiji 35).
The kucki-e introduced no specific literary work.

The print is depicted as a kuchi-e and discussed in Helen Merritt/Nanako Yamada: Woodblock Kuchi-e Prints Reflections of Meiji Culture, p. 177.

Condition: page with minor dog-ears at the top corners of the margins and slightly crumpled at the edges. The paper at the back of the page has very minor damage at the left margin.
The woodblock print is in good condition.
