Guy Vandenbranden - Compositie

Description
Guy Vandenbranden - Compositie
Mixed media - Hand signed

Beautiful and rare work by the Antwerp constructivist Guy Vandenbranden (1926-2014). From a sought after period! Exceptional is that this work is done in gouache and crayon.

Guy Vandenbranden (Elsene, 14 July 1926 - Antwerp, 3 June 2014) was a Belgian artist. He was, among other things, active as a painter, draughtsman, sculptor, and graphic artist.

From 1951, Guy Vandenbranden definitely said goodbye to figuration and he began to work lyrically abstract. In 1952, Vandenbranden ended up in the Brussels art environment and became friends with Pol Bury, Jo Delahaut, Kurt Lewy, Jean Rets, and Jean Milo. Thanks to these contacts, Guy Vandenbranden joined the artists' group "Art Abstrait" in 1956. Vandenbranden worked completely geometrically abstract from 1954 onwards and practiced this visual language consistently until his death in 2014.
