Ho-o-te Doll

In the Hopi style.

Wood, pigments and feathers.

Dimensions: 36 cm x 20 cm x 12 cm.

The Kachina represented here appears in ordinary dances and sometimes in the “snake dance”, performed in the festivity of the Niman. The decoration of the face, including on the cheeks, evokes the flowers of spring, announced by the Ho-o-te dance.

The large, rounded and exorbitant eyes indicate that it belongs to the group of the Guards-Warriors.

Lovely polychromy of origin. Very nice state of preservation.
