Wool on wool - Turkmenistan - Late 19th century

Antique carpet, circa 1880.
Beautiful red colours.
Interesting edge.
A part with three rows of 'guls', octagon shapes.
Each Ersari tribe has its own gul.
Beautiful abrash in the wool.
The edges are original and undamaged.
Knotted on undyed goat's wool.
Clean, not washed recently.
