At the beginning of the book, the text block is partly loose from the binding. Some pages are dog-eared and a page is a little torn. Due to age, a few pages are stained. The text is clean and easily readable. Please take a look at the many photos provided to get a very good idea of the item.

Hippolyte Bernheim (1840-1919) is a famous French professor of medicine and neurologist, famous in the history of hypnosis and psychotherapy. With Liébeault, Liégeois and Beaunis, Bernheim formed what was called the School of Nancy, or School of Suggestion, as opposed to Jean Martin Charcot's School of the Salpêtrière.
