Antique Seidel & Naumann Sewing Machine from the late 1800. The beautiful decorations are fairly intact, contains mother of pearl elements. The machine is complete including the dust cover without key. It is a transversal shuttle machine and has the needle size plate on the machines. This typewriter was illustrated in the Gamages mail order catalogue of 1914, when Seidel & Naumann had produced more than 3 million machines. The company made beautiful sewing machines for decades. This peaked around the later part of the Victorian era. At one time, the German manufacturer employed more than 1,744 employees. Seidel & Naumann grew into one of Germany's largest sewing machine manufacturers, surviving the bombing of Dresden in World War II. Condition: in good condition, the mechanics work well.
