A magnificent openwork statue carved out of Coromandel wood with the depiction of the epic battle between Hanuman (Rama's monkey warrior) and the snake Naga.
Hanuman, here in an iconic scene of the battle between the monkey warrior and the snake, is the monkey warrior of the God Rama. Statues of Hanuman are used to protect homes. The Monkey god Hanuman is the deity who once helped the god Rama rescue his wife Sita from the hands of the demon king Ravana in the pantheon of Hinduism.
Very artful and finely carved openwork carving from a piece of the valuable Coromandel wood. It is really worth seeing from all sides.
