Phototype is the highest quality printing process ever, with only three phototype printshops left in the world today.
This technique was mainly used for illustrating books or prints in small editions. It makes possible to achieve prints of incredibly high original fidelity.
Today, the expensive phototype technique is almost only used for facsimile of works of art such as paintings. For this, the playback quality is unmatched. The result of the phototype is a grid-less print that shows surfaces supporting the brightest lights as well as fine drawing
