We want to share some informations for those who are not very familiar to Turkey paper money. Turkey's paper money consist of 9th emission, each emission has different series. Last four emissions relatively cheap according to first five emission. The first emission banknotes that printed in United Kingdom by Thomas De La Rue is only one that printed with Arabic alphabet around 1920s. The first emission banknotes are rare and naturally, rather expensive.

While some of second emission banknotes has Ataturk portrait on itself others has portrait of Ismet Inonu on it, who is second president of Turkey.
All of banknotes of third and fourth emissions also have portrait of Ismet Inonu. It is possible to said that banknotes of second, third and fourth emissions also rare and expensive. But still cheaper than first emission.

Fifth emission consist of many issues. Usually first issues slightly more expensive than latter. There are many circulated banknotes of fifth emission. But uncirculated banknotes of fifth emission are rare and expensive. Overall it could be said that it is quite costly to collect UNC banknotes from first five emissions.

It is accepted that circulated banknotes of sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth has no monetary value. Because UNC condition very ample in these emissions.
Because of high inflation seventh emission denominations carry very high numbers. Some of them a lot of zeros.

At 2005, six zeros was removed from the banknotes and eighth emission published. It is called New(Yeni) Lira to eighth emission.

Ninth emission banknotes has been used since 2009.
