A large beautiful lacquerware paper box (ryōshibako), dark red lacquered with rounded corners and decorated in gold maki-e lacquer with a bamboo grove design.
Inside the lid and at the bottom of the box showing a design of thatched farmhouses in Kōrin-style signed: Mitsuyoshi (Matsuzawa Mitsuyoshi Workshop from Takayama, Gifu Province). In silver and gold maki-e lacquer with mother-of-pearl inlay work. With inside an extra tray.
