Stunning and rare antique Shivan carpet

The rug is perfectly squared. The colours are the result of natural plant dies
The rusty red background enhances the central designs. Four central medallions (ivory and red hooked diamonds). The cantons are made up of mythological birds: peacocks, which are the symbol of imperial wealth and splendour. The main border is formed by the oak leaves which envelop the famous wine glass.

SHIRVAN

Shirvan is the name of a region located in north-eastern Azerbaijan, where you will find many villages dedicated to weaving the most beautiful and refined rugs in the Caucasus. Shirwan was also the name by which superior quality Caucasian rugs were generically referred to.
