Bernard Pierre Wolff (1930 - New York 1985) was an important French photographer.
His photographs have been published in the New York Times, Herald Tribune, Modern Photography, Zoom, Photo. He exhibited in New York, Paris and many other places.
Former assistant to Henri Langlois at the Cinémathèque Française, he left Paris in 1958 to move to New York City.
where he worked for the UN and UNICEF.
In 1980 he returned to India for a series of images to be published in his book, "In India", (published in 1982). The third volume - "New York Macadam" - was born the following year.
Falling ill with AIDS, he returned to New York in 1985 to complete another book.
In Paris, a tribute exhibition was organized in his memory after his death at the Espace Photographique while the Maison Européenne de la Photographie named his auditorium after him.
