Height 34 cm. wood. Good carving, fine expression, Good old patina.
H= 49 cm on the metal stand included.

The Ibibio people are a coastal people in southern Nigeria.

Quite seldom mask Half animal ( ram?) half man. A fine stylised mask. I could not find a second similar one, but it is close to the ekbo idiok masks from the Ibibio.

An Early and fine Ekpo mask with pointed jaw, to uphold the authority of the elders, and maintain social control in the politically-decentralized Ibibio region.
