Prestige objects were carved specially for the SUKU chiefs and were kept by them. Slit drums ending in a carved human head were used by diviners.
Stylistically, SUKU sculptures are characterized by 2 enlargedfaces with an almond-shaped mouth, a triangular nose and coffee-bean eyes, all set under an elaborate coiffure. This type of style is called janus, with 2 identical faces.
