France - 19e eeuwse, krijgshamer - Combat - battle hammer

A war hammer or battle hammer is a weapon of war, modelled after the average hammer. It's meant for short-range combat.

The most famous version of the war hammer was introduced in the late Middle Ages. The handle of the war hammer could have different lengths; the longest had the size of a halberd and the shortest the size of a mace. Some models had a pointed protrusion on one side. War hammers were primarily intended as a new weapon against the armour always getting stronger in the 14th and 15th centuries, which were more resistant to weapons like swords than older models. War hammers could often damage these harnesses without piercing them.
This hammer dates back to the 2nd half of the 19th century and is still completely original
