Ancient Greek, Hellenistic Terracotta Apulian owl skyphos - 50×65×110 mm - (1)

Skyphos (drinking vessel), thin-walled on profiled stand ring with two horizontal opposite handles. On both sides, a right-facing owl is depicted between olive branches, the symbol of Athena, the city's goddess of protection. Fine painting, dotted at the head and neck, the plumage stroked.

Condition: Completely intact, fine painting, metallic gloss

Provenance: 1995 from the German art trade, before that private collection of the 60s.
