Pair of large and impressive French Officer " Luis XV " HOLSTER "Arçon" pistols ( 1750)) , transformed into percussion late 1820`s, in case. Barrels half round half eight fold , beautiful shinning patina. Plain brass garrisons.Large butt.Lock signed BEAUSSERON Á BERGERAC in the other warm out.( trigger screw and one side plate screw substituted) Walnut root stocks with same restorations in the foreend of one pistol.This one has a consolidated crack being restored in is life time.( hardly seen!) Working fine in security and armed positions.Nipples ok.


A large ducal or count crown as a possession scutcheon on back of both pistols suggests a high aristocrat provenance.We could identify.

BEAUSSERON 1750/1770.Active at BERGERAC: Bergerac in Dordogne department in New Aquitaine, southwestern France.

In a Camphor case , central scutcheon in brass, not used, no key ( closing pins instead), ( this not is original case). Interior lined with green velvet, compartmentalized, containing: powder flask nineteenth century in brass (signs of welding on top and lever spring substituted) ; Apocryphal steel mold and screwdriver with horn handle ( both possibly vintage). Signs of use appropriate to the age and facelifts
