High and beautiful six panel byobu-screen with a painting of green rolled-up temple sudare ("window" blinds) with nicely detailed paintings of red tessels on a gold leaf ground. This is the kind of sudare ("window" blinds) only used in temples. That also explaines when the size is different from most other screens.
On the reverse side a monochrome painting of a mountain landscape. Signed and sealed on the backside.
HIgh: 193,5 cm. Width 6 x 60 cm Total width 360 cm.
In very nice original condition. With one goldleaf repair on the right most panel.
These kind of roomdividers can also be easily mounted flat on a wall and be presented as one impressive work of art. (2 x 76 cm). Early Showa period.
Will be delivered with certificate of authenticity.
