You are bidding on a very fine and rare old 4/4 violin, labeled Camillus Camilli Fecit Mantua 1750. The instrument is in ready to play condition with no cracks or repairs, ebony set up and master bridge. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top, interesting human form head and one piece back of softly flamed maple with inlaid castle. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The varnish of golden amber color. The whole length of the violin is 59,5 cm and the back 35,7 cm. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, rich, warm, sweet and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power.
