Original cover, front and back, of “Almanacco del Mistero” 2003 by Giancarlo Alessandrini, dedicated to France and some of its most iconographic figures.
The peculiarity of this cover is that during the publication the left half was reproduced on the back while the other half on the front of the album (in English these covers are called wraparound covers).
Together with the original drawing, the auction also includes a colour proof, that is, a photocopy of the drawing coloured with pastels or watercolours, made by the drawer to give directions to the editorial team on how to colour the drawing to be published.
Indian ink drawing size: 48 x 33 cm.
Size of the colour proof made with pastels: 42 x 30 cm.
Preserved in perfect condition (please note that the colour proof has a piece of adhesive tape that unfortunately slightly peeled the paper in the middle, near the notes written in pencil by the artist).
