PHILIPS radio in mint condition and well playing

Radio small in size manufactured by PHILIPS model BF 101 U from 1950, the housing is made of Bakelite resin with beautiful warm red colour. The housing has shiny aspect. The radio has a pleasant form with round off corners. Nevertheless it is noteworthy mentioning the restoration of a crack of a couple of centimetres just on the left back corner. The restoration job has been done as careful as possible so that it is hardly perceptible (see photo). The cloth of the front panel is clean and free of spots and dust. The names of radio stations are clearly readable.
The last photo is a copy of the advertisement of PHLIPS radios for the production of 1950 showing the model BF 101 U (not included in the sale). A copy of the document will be included with the radio.
The radio plays on wavebands LW, MW and SW.
The left button is for volume and on/off switch
At the right, bottom consists of the switch for wavelength selector (LW, MW, SW)
and the front button is for the station selection.
The radio is operating on 110/127 (the radio needs a transformer to drop the voltage from 220 Volts to 110 Volts).
Tube setting : UCH42/UF41/UBC41/UL41/UY42
The radio has been professionally restored very carefully; especially all the leaky capacitors have been replaced by new ones and the tubes have been tested and they have been replaced if they were turned out weak. The radio tunes well the stations
by plugging a wire of 3 or 4 meters of length as antenna.
Dimensions : 23 cm wide, 14.5 cm high and 15 cm deep (including knobs), weight : 2 kg.
Radio will be very well packaged with special care, and sent by registered mail.
