Ettore Sottsass - Olivetti Synthesis - Ashtray

Description
Ettore Sottsass - Olivetti Synthesis - Ashtray
Italy - 1970-1979 - Melamine

Designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1973, the ashtray is part the Synthesis series by Olivetti, an icon of Italian design.

Made entirely of melamine, a material loved by Adriano Olivetti who, in the 1960s, used it to make many pieces for the Olivetti brand; they are characterised by a simple, minimalist style, vintage and modern at the same time, that makes them instantly recognisable.

This dark green version is very rare and extremely chic.

In very good condition, it is undamaged, clean and ready to be used. The signs of age-related wear include a small chip, invisible as situated on the back of the base (see photo number 13).
A perfect item to elegantly enhance your desk or other piece of furniture, either in the house or office.

The items shown in the last photo are for illustrative purposes and are not included in the auction.

Shipping costs include insurance cover.
