Robert SGARRA discovered painting at the age of 13. Self-taught, he was influenced by the great masters of painting.
It is difficult to portray this singular artist--without necessarily being reductive--since his work is so dense and imaginative.
This insatiable creative artist, at the same time sculptor, painter, plastic artist, has a great and accomplished skill
serving a flamboyant inspiration. Generous in his pictorial expression, imaginative in his sculptures, Sgarra can confuse
some purists since his creativity can be dazzling and unexpected as well as classic.
Wizard of material, unclassifiable painter? With Robert Sgarra, pop’s art and the fiery ‘Fauve’ colourist are cheerfully revisited in
inventive and daring works, sometimes monumental; he varies shapes and colours, according to his mood and humour,
always with the same passion that haunts him.
In the 90s, with collage and acrylic on stone, he created works and trophies for prominent people such as:
Zidane, Luis Fernandez, Viera, Baresi, Karpov, Pinna... he continued a few years later on other
media (metal, aluminium) under the influences of Pop Art and Street Art. As a perfect director, he is daring to the extreme with colours,
Robert Sgarra, painter with abundant creativity, gives us a rare alchemy creating indefinable emotional moments.
