The pen of the Italian empire
The rarest and most precious pen of the whole Aurora collection; it was produced by the Turin house in an exclusive collaboration with Benito Mussolini, who gave these pens to the fascist hierarchs as a symbol of good luck for the war in Ethiopia.
This pen does not refill with cartridges, instead, it features an open tank that allows you to insert solid ink to be wet with water or saliva, as in the desert any type of cartridge would have dried out.
A truly sturdy pen, which could work even in the most uncomfortable situations during the war
Benito Mussolini, gave pens to the fascist hierarchs on the mission; the number of pens produced corresponded to that of the hierarchs.
This object is very rare as many of the very few existing pieces were lost during the war.
It bears the symbol of an imperial eagle, which recalls the fascist eagle, symbol of power and of fascist Italy, which conquered and became the strongest industrial power in the world.
The pen is in ivory auroloide and gold.
The pen is how it appears in the photos, it has some flaws, confirming that the pen was actually used during the war. It has obvious signs which add to its charm and value; it was fortunate that this pen made it to the present days!
It is sold with an original Aurora box, as per photos, which however, is not the Etiopia series box.
