Description
India - Combat - Antique 19th century Qatar, dagger
Good

The katar is a short punch dagger from India and was the special weapon of the Rajput warriors. The Katar can be recognised by its shape and was a highly effective and fast weapon due to its impact. It also was the only weapon fit for piercing a chain mail. The Katar was very useful for warding off other melee weapons. This 19th century Qatar is completely original. As with the older types, this blade has a reinforced point which has not been sharpened. This weapon is in very good and uncleaned condition, with its original patina.

Total length qatar 44 cm, width handle 9.2 cm
