Margareta van de Passe was the daughter of Cispijn I van de Passe and was active as an engraver in her father's publishing house in Utrecht, along with her brother Crispijn II.
Vivid engraving with a depiction of Venus discovering the death of Adonis after being killed by a wild boar. From an uncompleted and rare series after Ovid's Metamorphosis which includes engravings from members of the Van de Passe family business.
-- Condition: Very good dark impression on laid paper. Trimmed to the border, sm. weakening of paper on verso, not visible on the front.
