1822 model Cavalry Officer’s Sabre with Unmodified Sheath and Strap
Rare sword of combat officer and not for parade, model 1822, marking on back of blade: " Léon fabricant d'armes blanche à Paris" (see further down).
Brass trim, cross-guard with three branches, of which the two side branches are carved with oak leaves, pommel with a short tail, decorated with oak branches and a palmetto, grip made of horn with twisted copper filigree. Montmorency curved blade marked on the flat side ‘COUPANT LE FER’ with fuller, 91.5 cm long, signed on the back with customs hallmarks (see picture), leather strap. Iron sheath with two loops for strap and two rings
