A fine quality, blue and white late 19th century jar with lid.
20,5 cm diameter, 227 cm height (with lid)
Guangxu period jar (aprox.1880). Very finely and precisely painted decoration of stylized flowers and tendrils with leaves in spirals (the "sweet pea vine" pattern made for the Straits Chinese market) and a large ideogram of good luck in the centre.
Complete with original lid.
Jar condition very good, with firing faults and minute scratches on the surface consistent with age, see photos. Small crack on the lid.
