Very large sculpture ‘Le Goéland’ (The Gull) by Irénée Rochard, surely one of the most famous animal sculptors of the Art Deco period and after.

Magnificent bronze seagull, surfing on an art cast iron wave, with golden bronze patina. Amazing realism of the eyes, in XXL size. Hard to find, a surprising achievement. Sculpture signed in the wave and on the marble . Black Belgian oval-shaped marble, in very good condition despite a thin chip, see last photo
The Gull is life-sized.
