A pair of gilt bronze candlesticks.
They are signed F. Barbedienne.
The Barbedienne House, founded in 1834, was one of the most important art bronze companies in France during the 19th century. The founder of the House, Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892), one of the great bronzers of his time was an aesthete, an outstanding technician and a savvy industrialist..
(A candle ring is missing on one of the two, but nothing serious.)
