Decorative walking stick made in England/Europe, dating back to the late 19th century. From a private collection.
The walking cane features a lacquered wooden shaft and a unique handle in the shape of an English hunting dog’s head, made of resin and ivory, richly inlaid by hand, with nacre eyes. The handle has the typical hue of processed ivory. Under the handle are three decorative gilt metal rings (please, look at the decorations details in the photos). The tip is also made of wood and can be unscrewed.
In excellent condition, with minor signs of ageing. Please, look carefully at the pictures that are an integral part of the description and well show the details of the items. Please, look at the attached certificate.
The item was made before 1947, so it is in accordance with the EU regulations on ivory trade.
