This Mask comes from the Dan culture of Ivory Coast Also named Yacouba, the Dan live in the west of Ivory Coast and in the east of Liberia, in a wooded region.
This culture is structured around secret societies which rule the daily life of the villages.
Unlike the racing masks which present rounded eyes, this Dan mask has half-closed eyes. We can notice the mouth with prognathous lips.
