The great 12th-century warrior monk Benkei was known for his strength, enormous size, and loyalty. According to legend, Benkei spent 19 months in his mother's womb; when he was finally born, he was three times larger then normal babies, with teeth and long hair. As a boy he was called Oniwakamaru, or Demon Child.

Few small wormholes, restored with finest Japanese paper. Faded colours, slightly rubbed, trimmed.
