Masculine Anthropomorphic Nkisi Power Effigy - Songye People - D.R Congo, Early 20th century This Nkisi with powers represents a standing man. A horn is inserted on the summit of the head with the tip facing upwards, it contains loads. The head presents a nice volume with a blackened hairdo in the form of a bonnet, with wide half-open almond-shaped eyes, eyebrows highlighting a finely carved nose, the mouth is well-present and is lowered by a clog-chin. Wood with a wonderful ancient honey patina of wear, horn, string, beads.
