This mask comes from the Dan Culture from Côte d'Ivoire. Also named Yacouba, the Dan live in the west of Côte d'Ivoire and in the east of Liberia, in a wooded region. This culture is structured around secret societies which rule the daily life of the villages. This Dan mask has half-closed eyes, unlike the racing masks which present rounded eyes. Particularly elongated mouth.
