Remarkable Somali Issa Nomadic Headrest from the Republic of Djibouti.
Carved in soft and light (palm?) wood, it presents many engraved decorations, the lightest tint contrasts with the brown patina of the surface.
Characteristic of the headrests from this region of the Horn of Africa, the plate is comfortably curved and supported by two V-pillars resting on a conical base decorated with striations.
Unique piece from a French collection.
