Very rare vase - .800 silver - Mario Buccellati - Italy - Mid 20th century
Good condition - used with small signs of aging & blemishes - 163 g

Outstanding and very refined vase, coming from a remarkable collection of Italian silverware, made and signed by Mario Buccellati.

The vase surface has been entirely treated with a particular technique called "hammering with a 12-pointed tool" and embellished with applied roses.

The 1998 volume "Mario Buccellati: storie di uomini e gioielli" (Mario Buccellati: Stories of Men and Jewels) dedicated a whole page to a vase made using that very same technique. Please, see some pages of the volume in the attached pictures.

Hallmarks on bottom: 800, logo partially worn and illegible silversmith mark, Mario Buccellati.

Height: 10.5 cm

Weight: 163 grams.

In good condition, with two small dents, as highlighted by the pictures, around a rose and on the base edge.
