Old Sepik Canoe prow with a great realistic cut-out crocodile head. Canoes are the primary mode of travel for the villagers in the Sepik River area, because there are so few roads exist. Once the canoe reached the point where it can no longer be repaired, or if the owner dies, they cut off the bow at pretty important canoes.
This item was used every day for many decades in the Sepik river.
