This is about the male beard mask " Kiwoyo-Muyombo ".
This mask could be used as a dance mask or as a wall mask.
Ex. Colonial collection. Goedeghebuere (in situ ca. 1945)
Softer wood type.
Dark brown oily patina.
Traces of white kaolin powder.
Both front and back have insect damage.
Quite some wear due to use.
Triplicate local restoration with raffia cloth on the inside.
Patinated, dry, inside.
Attachment holes around the edge of the face.
Rather original in this form!
