Vikšraitis´ images are no-frills, unfiltered, often shameless and show a dreary life. A life marked by poverty, hardship, pain, lack of perspective, alcoholism and probably its debauchery. However, they reveal much more to the viewer at the same time. Namely valuable aspects of humanity, such as serenity, longing, familiarity, deep friendship and connection between people. It is these aspects that draw the viewer into its imagery and relentlessly grab their attention, and convince them to visually linger.
Vikšraitis became known to the interested public at the latest with the book project "Real World", which he realised in collaboration with British photographer Martin Parr.
