The projects of Ettore Sottsass have often represented true design challenges due to the high degree of experimentation and the technical complications that had to be overcome in the manufacturing stage. In the early 1990s, the Twergi line was launched, a collection of wooden items made by artisans of Valle Strona, a valley near Lake Orta, where Alessi is located.
