Ettore Sottsass for Alessi - Twergi, 1989
Rare item, very few items manufactured.
The collaboration between Ettore Sottsass and Alessi began in 1972.
The projects of Ettore Sottsass have often represented true design challenges due to the high degree of experimentation and the technical complications that had to be overcome in the manufacturing stage.
In the early 1990s, the Twergi line was launched, a collection of wooden items made by artisans of Valle Strona, a valley near Lake Orta, where Alessi is located. The name Twergi, "gnome" or "elf of the woods" in the local dialect, alludes to the serene and playful creatures.
