Guido Gambone - Vietri - Bowl - Rare - Thick vitreous glaze

Description
Guido Gambone - Vietri - Bowl - Rare - Thick vitreous glaze
Italy - 1950-1959 - Ceramic

This Guido Gambone bowl can also be hung from a wall.

It is hand turned with a very thick Vitreous glaze all over. The centre of the bowl is decorated with Quadrifoglie (four-leafed clover).

The bowl which bears the Donkey marking for Guido Gambone and also the marking for Vietri is a desirable piece due to its relative rarity.

The glaze at the centre of the bowl must be close to 1cm in thickness which accounts for the amount of crazing that can be seen. I have taken photos with different lighting angles to highlight the amount of crazing. The thickness of the glaze can also be seen on the underside where the blue glaze has run down the bowl.

Dimensions: 25.5 cm x 25.5 cm x 9 cm
