The Africa Star medal is a military campaign medal, instituted by the United Kingdom in 1943 for award to subjects of the British Commonwealth who served during the Second World War in North Africa between 10 June 1940 and 12 May 1943.
The front side shows the crowned Royal Cypher 'GRI-VI' , surrounded by the text 'The Africa Star'.
The Atlantic Star is as above, instituted in May 1945 for award to British Commonwealth forces who took part in the Battle of the Atlantic (the longest continuous campaign of the Second World War).
Both medals are in a (very) good condition.
The Africa Star only has a fragment of its ribbon.
The back sides are smooth.
The metal is non-ferrous.
The size of each medal is ca. 43 mm. diameter.
The weight is ca. 20 grams.
