Who is Imbue?
Imbue was born in London on 19 January 1988. He spent his childhood in the county of Kent, in the south-east of England. The artist remembers having always had a penchant for creation, a quest fuelled by his father.
"Nicknamed "the new Banksy", Imbue not only writes his name on the walls. Provocative and evil-minded, the street artist hijacks advertisements or army recruitment posters and even goes so far as to introduce a naughty Snow White on the shelves of a Disney store.
Playing with symbols, he melts a bottle of Coca Cola into the body of the Virgin Mary, hijacking religious and popular iconography to give it a new meaning. In 2008, he installs powdered sugar dispensers displaying "cocaine" and "heroin" on Brighton's pier, without being worried, questioning the public and the authorities about the drugs found on every street corner."
